99er’s Long-Term Unemployed Legislative Call-in Campaign Continues…

Peace, Love, & Harmony to All…

Some of you may already be aware that currently S.3706 “Americans Want to Work Act” is in the Finance Committee as confirmed by the following Senators offices I just spoken with Senator Stabenow, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, House Luis V. Gutierez {who does support the bill} even though at this point the House doesn’t have a bill yet.}, and Senator Durbin’s office who is a co-sponsor.  They would like to have this bill go through as quickly as possible, and Senator Roland W. Burris.

We greatly appreciate the support of legislators who understand the plight of the unemployed especially as it relates to the 99ers.   Legislators that are truly working for the people who sent them to represent them will continue to have our vote and support.  We say thank you for investing and believing in hard-working taxpayers who by no fault of their own lost their jobs, and want to work… So thank you for all your hard work…

I’ve requested all the representatives that I’ve called those far to a least present this update to the public via the media to offer some hope for the 99ers.  I also asked can and will they push to vote on this bill prior to the next recess Oct. 8th, 2010.  Also, as many of you know until it completes the process within the Finance Committee; it won’t make it to the calendar…  I also called our House representative Peter J. Roskam – R to lend his support once it goes through the legislative processes and how “Time is of the Essence” people are hurting, losing their residence, and committing suicide…

Again, please continue to spread the word, join the legislative call-in, fax, and email campaign to get this bill passed prior to the next legislative recess Oct. 8th, 2010.   “Time is of the Essence”, the 99ers have been awaiting relief for close to 8 months.  People are running out of resources, losing their residence, can’t keep food on the table, no money to look for jobs by keeping gas in their cars, nor for public transportation.  Worst of all those who are losing faith & hope.  They need inspiration, encourage, faith & hope to carrier on… Thank you, for your continued support…

If you’re on Facebook feel free to join “Extend Unemployment Benefits” who is apart of organizing today the call-in campaign.   Additionally, in an effort to synergize and organize this issue the following group has been created “The American 99ers Union”:    http://www.american99ersunion.com/ There’s power in numbers especially when we’re working towards a common good for all those impacted…

Please understand that those that were covered under HR4213 a couple of months ago approximately 2.5 million at some point will be 99ers.  Therefore, it’s very important for them to continue supporting the 99ers approximately 5 million who are potentially going into their 8th month without any support and assistance i.e. UI extension, Tier 5…

Thank you, and Have a Blessed & Peaceful Day…

  1. I have paid in on unemployment insurance for 40 years, definetly would like to see return on investment..

  2. we are beyond frantic. we have been Desperately searching for work on a daily basis for nearly three years! We were laid off when the company we worked for shut down due to the economy. We have very marketable skills and have worked hard and happily all our lives. We have sold everything of value we have, and are now about to lose our home. we have no place to go. We are literally sick with worry and anxiety, and no longer have health insurance so cant even go to a doctor for help. Our ages and ruined credit are working against us in the job market. We are good looking, relatively healthy, excellent work history people. We feel hopeless and desperate.

  3. I sincerly hope that our lawmakers do not forget us in our time of need.If there is any comfort in numbers you have 15 million people, roughly, in your same position and state of mind.A organized effort by all should do the trick.Lets push for employment and support for all involved and in a timely manner supported by our elected officals. Now is the time for action;email, phone, write as much as possible.Good luck will be needed..

  4. I have called every Senator on the Senate Finance Committee today. I also spoke with Senator Stabenow’s assistant. Senator Stabenow is really pushing hard to get this through. The problem lies with the head of the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Max Baucus, who has not brought this up for a vote by the Committee (which is tying the hands of Senator Stabenow and the Bill).

Please everyone call Senator Max Baucus, and leave a message with his Assistant for him to bring S.3706 to issue, so that it can pass to the Floor for a vote by Congress before congress recesses.

This is of the utmost importance before this week ends. (Rumor has it that congress is asking to recess a week early, and that Senator Reid is contemplating giving them their request. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. We need to move respectfully and promptly on this matter.)

The contact information is below for Senator Baucus:

  7. You do realize, that by November 30—MILLIONS more will become 99ers…. MILLIONS….
    Then at least 450,000 per week—PER WEEK—are filing for ~new~ UI claims?….
If the 99ers are not recognized by the end of the year, when millions have been without help since March—Yes MARCH of 2010—the economy will hit the tank faster than your imagination can absorb…..
It is not JUST the holidays arriving…
Homes lost, families split, hungry children sleeping in cars or in the streets, United Way is broke, food banks are bare, food stamp applications are at its highest in history, section 8 is a four year +++ wait, retirement plans and 401Ks are gone, on and on…..
    THIS IS IN AMERICA!!!!!!!!
MILLIONS more will join that 99er group, there will be trouble on the horizen for our country, if help is not given……
It is as if the politicians are PROMPTING the rioting in Americas streets……
    They are accomplishing that mission…..
It is no longer IF there will be rioting, but
    WHEN.
